Chimei Museum

Located in Tainan, the Chi Mei Museum is one of the few Western-themed museums in Taiwan. The purpose of its establishment is to promote art and cultural education. The Qimi Museum was created by Mr. Xu Wenlong, founder of the Chi Mei Group, in 1992 and moved to a new building in 2014. The museum's collection comes from Mr. Xu Wenlong's personal collection, which includes art, musical instruments, natural specimens, and historical artifacts, embodying his passion for art and knowledge.

The interior design of the Chimei Museum is elegant, and the Western Art District showcases a wealth of classic European sculptures and paintings, from Renaissance to Modernism, where visitors can enjoy the artistic landscapes of different eras. Sculptural works include replicas of Rodin's famous work The Thinker, as well as works by other famous Western sculptors, which not only showcase the art of sculpture, but also reflect the thought and culture of the time. The Paintings Gallery houses the works of many of Europe's most famous painters, including oil, watercolor and other media, allowing the audience to feel the deep underpinnings of European art up close.

The Concert Hall is another highlight of the Chimei Museum, which houses hundreds of rare antique instruments, from pianos, violins to folk instruments, many of which are treasures with hundreds of years of history. The concert hall not only displays musical instruments, but also holds regular small concerts, allowing visitors to enjoy the wonders of music while enjoying the art. In addition to visual and auditory feasts, the Chimei Museum also has a natural science exhibition area with a wealth of natural specimens, including specimens of mammals, birds and insects, which not only amaze with the diversity of nature, but also inspire people to think about nature conservation.
